The 2020 John "Buck" Renner Memorial Two Ball is in the books. Finishing at Wentworth Hills today, some incredible scores were fashioned on this par-71 layout. For instance: Vijay Chetty and Ken McKenzie blistered the course with a 10-under-par net round of 61. Compare that to their 1-over-par round of 72 at Heather Hill on Saturday, that saw them 1-shot from the bottom of the standings. Their round catapulted them into the early clubhouse lead – eventully finishing at 9-under-par, tied for 11th.

Saturday, October 3rd at Heather Hill CC (N-M)

Round 1 - Saturday, October 3rd at Heather Hill CC (N-M)

Pete Fontaine had the greens running fast and true, and Elmo had on his perennial smile at a very fall-like day at Heather Hill. Forty-one, two-man teams teed off starting at 9am on the "old," North-Middle course layout. As always, the starters and cart managers did a wonderful job of guiding around all the people that wanted to play.

"The Cream Rises to the Top."

Two former AAGA City Open Champions, Neal Boyer (1987) and Kolby Simmons (2018), fired a two ball net total of 10-under-par 61 to take the first round net honors. They are followed by Jay Poirier and Keith Greim with 63; and Bill and Shawn Gaskin and Matt Hogan and Brandon Nolan at 64.

Twenty teams are within 6 shots of the lead, so tomorrow should be quite an exciting day.
